Terremoto Blanco#

Hier est apparu dans les médias le mot clé ! TERREMOTO BLANCO (tremblement de terre blanc) ! Celui qui traduisait le plus fortement la sensation que nous avions depuis quelques jours, a savoir que nous vivions un second « post tremblement de terre »#... non pas que la terre tremblait car ce n’était pas le cas (meme si elle le fait encore régulierement), mais bien parce qu’une fois de plus, il nous fallait reprendre les bonnes habitudes qui ont suivi le tremblememt de terre…. : sortir les bougies, vivre et cuisiner dans le noir, faire des reserves d’eau, la bouillir avant de la boire, ne plus se doucher, laver la salade dans 1cm d’eau dans un saladier pour economiser le plus possible cette denrée tout a coup si rare….. 
Cette fois-ci, nous ne sommes pas allés chercher l’eau dans les sources des montagnes, comme on l’a fait en février, mais bien dans le jardin, sous forme de neige. Alors deux constats : la neige, ca met un paquet de temps a bouillir et… la neige c’est pas du tout rentable , on chauffe une casserole entiere et il reste 10cm d’eau bouillie.
Tout cela parce qu’ici, on construit les maisons tr es vite, parfois (souvent) vraiment pas tres bien, on laisse les tuyaux a l’air libre… et donc tout le système d’eau potable du village a explosé sous la vague de froid et de neige de la semaine derniere. Sauf qu’avec les 60cm de neige tombés en un jour, les services d’eau n’ont pas reussi a trouver la fuite.
Par-dessus tout, un des deux puits de réserve d’eau du village fragilisé-par-le-tremblement-de-terre-de-fevrier-mais-pas-réparé s’est ecroulé sous le poids de la neige….
Quand aux coupures de courants…. elles sont tellement frequentes depuis le fevrier, que c’est presque une habitude, tellement que Elhaia elle-même, du haut de ses 2ans, demande regulierement si aujourdhui y’a la lumiere.

Yesterday, the medias put a name on what we were more and more feeling these past few days…… TERREMOTO BLANCO (white earthquake). Because with the cold and the snowstorm that came this past week, we had the sensation to go back to the “post-earthquake period”#... not that the earth shook again (although it still does at times) but because once again, we had to go back to the routine of the post.earthquake period…: light on candles, live and cook in the dark, put several liters of drinkable water aside, boil it if not drinkable, not being able to shower, wash vegetables in
1cm of water in a bowl to preserve as much as possible this suddenly very rare and precious commodity….
This time though, we did not go to find the water in a small source of the mountain, but right outside the house in the garden, from the snow. And so we can make two conclusions: snow takes hooooours to boil, and…. snow is not at all rentable because you heat a big full pot of snow and get at the end around 10cm of boiled water.
All this because here, houses are built really fast and sometimes (often) really bad, piping are left outside… and so the whole system of drinkable water from the village just exploded out of the cold and snow of this past week. And the problem being thet with the 60cm of snow that fell down in just one day, the water services were not able to find the leak.
Moreover, one of the two water tanks already-fragilised-by-the-earthquake-and-not-repaired) just totally collapsed under the weight of the snow…
As for the power-cuts .. they come so often since february that it had become part of the routine, so much that Elhaia herself, with her 2years old life experience in Chile, regularly asks if "today there is light".
