Froiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid - Cooooooooooooold

(les arbres ont eu du mal a rester droit en fait, si vous voyez ce que je veux dire...

trees had a hard time staying straight, if you see what I mean...)

On sort d'une semaine complete de tempete totalement folle de vent et pluie, tellement forte qu'on a ( de nouveau ! ) cru plus d'une fois que la maison allait s'ecrouler.... finalement les maisons chiliennes sont plus solides qu'elles n'y paraissent.

Le froid a eu raison de nous cette fois-ci et nous a tous cloués au lit----

Notre voisine nous a dit l'autre jour que quand elle etait petite (je pense qu'elle a aujourdhui dans les 65), l'hiver c'etait ca.... pluie et neige pendant des semaines sans discontinuer, puis ensuite venait une journée d'eclaircie, tout le village sortait de sa maison, se saluait, prenait des nouvelles des uns et des autres, se serrait la main, puis rentrait dans sa maison, revenait la pluie et la neige pendant plusieurs semaines, puis une eclaircie, tout le monde sortait, se serrait la main, puis rentrait, etc etc etc etc jusqu'au printemps.

Just back from a week of totally crazy wind and rain storm, so strong that we thought (again) that our house would collapse... finally the chilean houses are much more solid than what we think at first.

But it resulted in leading the 3 of us to bed.... with fever and cough....

Our neighbor told us the other day that when she was a child, (I think she is now around 65), winter was just like that: rain and snow for weeks uninterrupted, then a day of sun, everyone going out of his house to say hello, take news from the neighbors and shake hand, and then everyone would go inside the house again and the rain and snow would come back, for weeks uninterrupted, and then sun coming out for a day, everyone coming out again, shaking hand and going back inhouse..... and so on until springtime.

(Et notre pupuce, tres effrayée par le bruit enorme du vent, a eu du mal a comprendre qu'elle ne pouvait pas aller dehors se baigner ou jouer avec son chien...

and our little one really frightened by the noise of the wind, had a hard time understanding that she could'nt go swimming or playing outside with her dog)
