El Regalo (2008)

Au Chili (comme partout d’ailleurs je pense) c’est rare d’avoir un film qui se passe autre part qu’a Santiago (demandez donc aux Français ce qu’ils pensent des films qui ne se passent pas a Paris… ils vous diront probablement « lesquels ? »).

Bref voici un petit film chilien tres sympa, qui non seulement nous a bien fait rire… mais en plus qui se passe a l’hotel de Las Termas de Chillán ! Donc sentiment de fierté regionale oblige, on vous le signale !

C’est l’histoire de 3 amis inséparables : Francisco, Pacheco et Tito

Francisco est veuf et vient juste d’etre a la retraite. Mais c’est tres dur pour lui et il projette de mettre fin a sa vie parce qu’il ne trouve plus de sens a sa vie. Seulement, ses 2 amis décident de lui offrir un cadeau « REGALO », qui retardera un peu son projet…..

Mais ne vous fiez pas au résumé, c’est une comédie, romantique et petillante. En tout cas, nous, elle nous a plu.

PS : pour l’anecdote un des serveurs qu’on voit a la fin du film est le frere de la Meri, qui travaille en fait a l’hotel.


 

In Chili (like everywhere else I guess), it is not so often to have a movie with a plot that takes place somewhere else than Santiago (just ask french people what they think about movies made outside Paris and they’’ll probably ask you “which one”?)

Well, here is a chilean movie, that not only made us laugh quite a bit, but also that is taking place where we live, at Las Termas de Chillán! So with all our regional pride, we wanted to let you know about it!

It is the story of 3 foreverfriends: Francisco, Pacheco and Tito.

Francisco is widowed and just retired. But it is very hard for him and so he plans to end up with his life as he sees no meaning to it. But his 2 friends offer him a gift (regalo) that will delay his project…

But go over this summary… for EL REGALO is a comedy, romantic and quite sparkling.

PS : for the anecdote, one of the waiters at the end of the film is Meri’s brother who actually works at the hotel!
